Contribute to ONE|Boulder
Engage and contribute
To support in the growth and evolution of this game, the community and our homebase, we warmly invite Players to contribute to ongoing ONE|Boulder Projects. There are different opportunities to engage and contribute, from Action Days to Leading Shifts.
Homebase Care & Community Potluck
Every Friday from 1pm-2pm we take care of our homebase together. This includes basic cleaning tasks like mop, sweeping, cleaning counters, and generally freshening up together. After an hour of shining up our home, we come together for a community potluck from 2pm-4pm. This is also a great opportunity to meet new Members and for Guests to get a taste of our community. To keep things running smoothly, we have a sign-up form for both housework and what you're bringing to the potluck! https://form.jotform.com/202164761653050
Action Days on The Farm
Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 5pm-8pm we host Action Days on The Farm. Depending on the season and the needs, this looks like planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, singing, chatting, eating, and dancing. There is often music playing (know anyone who should play?), food to be shared (bring some!) and an opening and closing circle. This is another GREAT place to bring your friends and introduce them to the ONE|Boulder community!
Shift Supporter
By showing up during an active shift and supporting the Shift Leader in whatever they are working on that day, a Shift Supporter plays an important part in the thriving of the ONE|Boulder ecosystem. It is an opportunity to try out different roles and get a taste before getting trained and becoming on a Shift Leader. Serving as Shift Supporter is a great way to explore different ONE|Boulder projects and get a taste of their inner workings - while also contributing to their thriving!
To see the opportunities that are available visit the ONE|Boulder Open Hours Calendar.
Shift Supporters may be invited to become an Explorer by the Shift Leader and be gifted points based on their level of support and engagement that day. Shift Supporters are however just getting to know the position so they are not guaranteed to receive points from that shift*.
*If you do not receive points or are not invited to be an Explorer but would like to be, you are encouraged to ask the Shift Leader about it. While they have the right to say no to your request, if they do, they will likely offer to give you feedback about how you showed up so that you can have a clearer idea of how to better support in the future. You can feel free to decline the feedback or request feedback if for some reason they don't offer to provide it.
Shift Leader
Shift Leaders are Players who have gone through training for a particular role. Shift Leaders are responsible for being on time for their shift and for any other responsibilities that come with that role (which will be shared during training). They are also stepping into a higher level of play where they will be learning and developing their leadership skills with the support of the Management Team of that Domain.
Shift Leaders will direct and guide Shift Supporters that show up to help during their shifts. If a Shift Leader knows they are wanting to get a larger project done that day, they can also put out a request for Shift Supporters through the ONE|Boulder App.
With each shift, a Shift Leader is generating value into the ecosystem. Half-day shifts are typically valued at 55 points and full-day shifts at 111 points. Shift Leaders are encouraged to share points with Shift Supporters if they feel a Shift Supporter has contributed measurable value into the ecosystem that day.
Shift Leader Trainings
Trainings are an opportunity to learn new skills and become a Shift Leader in a particular Domain. To honor everyone's time, there is a requested points contribution for trainings. It shows the Trainer that you are serious about developing these skills and investing in yourself makes it more likely you will take on shifts. It also ensures that the Trainer, who has worked hard to develop their own skills, is recognized for the time they're investing in your growth. After you invest in training you unlock the ability to be a Shift Leader and generate points while supporting the whole community!
Management Team
Each day there will be at least one member of the Management Team present in each Domain. They ensure that operations are running smoothly and are there to guide and support Shift Leaders during their shifts, or for filling in and covering shifts when needed. Managers may also send additional points to Shift Leaders for a job well done or if they see a Shift Leader needs additional points to honor a large number of Shift Supporters*.
*Shift Leaders may also request additional points from Managers based on the support they feel they've received from Shift Supporters and progress they've made that day.
